The Vanyarin Elf-maiden Amarië was the beloved of Finrod Felangund. She stayed in Valinor when he went into exile to Middle-earth. After Finrod was slain, he was re-embodied in the Halls of Mandos and reunited with Amarië.
For the bakground I was inspired by my favorite quote in The Retunr of the King, told by Gandalf to Pippin: "The gray rain-curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it ... white shores. And beyond... a far green country under a swift sunrise" Those lines were taken from The Fellowship of the Ring book, where Frodo dreams of Valinor. I'm a bit fustrated 'cause lately I have started three photomanipulations which I did not feel like finishing... But today I could start and finish this one, which has helped me forget about the others for a while.
