Square collection of beautiful photos
Artist's Comments
From Juliet Marillier's "Child of the Prophecy" , the young sorceress Fainne is the illicit child of Ciaran and his half-niece Niamh. There's Darragh in the background with his bagpipe, if case you haven't noticed
I love how Fainne's hair is often described to look like fire flames, specially when she's angry, that it sparks Dedicated to the sweet ~TessBlack the rest from sxc.hu Commentsmuchas gracias!
-- "I wonder what's in a book while it's closed. I know it's full of letters printed on paper, but [..] something must be happening, because as soon as I open it, there's a whole story with people I don't know yet and all kinds of adventures and battles." Really wonderful. It really looks more a photograph than a painting. The man in the distance really does look like in distance (which is not often achieved). Her hair are natural looking, and with an amazing colour.
Well done, really well done! -- An old man by a seashore at the end of day Gazes the horizon with seawinds in his face Tempest-tossed island, seasons all the same Anchorage unpainted and a ship without a name |

Critiques
vision is debatable for me to judge since I think it's hard to others to judge what someone else has inside their head. I gave it a 4.5 I'm familiar with the series. I like how the tone of the picture is dark but not gloomy. it makes me think of the ray of sunlight breaking through troubling times and a dark path. the picture speaks of troubling tasks and hardships but also of hope and resolve.
Originality I gave a 4.5 since it's all different pictures or parts of combined to make a completely new picture. however it is based on a story already written. not something 100% thought up by the artist.
Wooo Technique, It is an absolutely lovely piece. I had to give it a 5.
Impact, def a 5. the figure of Fainne just yanks me into the picture I really like how the sunlight breaking over the cliffs highlights her hair a bit. and I start viewing the rest of the picture from Fainne's perspective almost . Very enticing and gripping. also a very balanced work in use of colors, shadows/highlights and perspective i think.
k, hope that helps for future works. Nice job!
I love the whole piece. It carries a story behind it and I'm sure it's a story worth telling.
